What do you see
Behind the eyes

Is it darkness or light

Do they betray
Do they give me away

Is there truth to every word they relay

Am I
Crystalline

Can you see right through me
Can you see light
Truly

Do I bid to deceive
Is that what you perceive

Icy cold to the touch
I’m a fortress of such

Standing tall on my knees
I’m the chill in the trees

I’m the cold light of day
Have and hold right of way

I’m the mist in the air
with a twist of despair

Been imprisoned within
and this isn’t my sin

Didn’t earn my life sentence
Haven’t spurned my repentance

I have suffered through smiles
Had enough of exile

Captive to my sorrow
I have begged
As I have borrowed

Coldest steel has intruded
Boldest will still eluded

As my light has been dim
Not so bright when within

I rescind not to spite
Have been pinned down with might

Lightning strikes clapping thunder
As they tear me asunder

All alone in my chamber
It’s my home is this chamber

There has been visitation
In my fears he is graven

Foreigner to my throne
Coroner of my bones

He requests my submission
I detest his perdition

Or at least that was true
til I learned it was you

This Elusive Black Raven
melts the ice to this maiden

Beady eye to my soul
Lullaby to console

Plumage flecked in grey ash
To my soul cage it’s latched

Ivy veins rush to greet it
Inhumane to defeat it

As it fights for its
Queen
Would bleed out so she’s seen

Offer breath to the last
To the death
Just to pass

No longer a sin
if I let this light in

Let it surge
Court the urge to tear off this
Pale skin

Wear with grace my contusions
stand and face disillusion

See most clearly such light
Never nearly too bright

It’s our right to converge
It’s through light that we
Merge.
