Florence + The Machine “The Breath of Life”

Tears of beauty be wept
In pendant be kept
While angels confess
Of dependence on thee
Every virtue possess’d
In light thine bosom hath blest
Abreast of existential dressing
Excess of transcendency

Thine abundance not incumbent on the numbered years of chance
No heartbeat torn asunder
For this masterpiece is art
Its ramparts hath been plundered
Gripped by distant thunder
Ripped apart
Still thou wish no tempo to depart

Memento of flamenco nights
Midst echoes of crescendo flight
Invited blessings
Cursed no blight
Of blind alligned
To sight reprised
Behind the eyes
The cosmos redefined
Knows no confine
The shadow plays
In rays of twine
Dead night parades
Unbroken light
While space and time
Are placed aside
Their weight assigned no mass
No rite of passage
To survive
For tears of beauty wept
In pendant kept
Thine blessed sacrifice

Once witnessed a doll throw her mic
Leave the stage
Cutting the threads
That denied sweet embrace
I watched her run free
In defiance and brave
Felt inclined to give standing ovation
Chasing this dream
To the sands that shake hands with the sea
A solitary diamond welled
In eyes of timeless sweep
Kissed to tell
Then fell about her feet

Tears of beauty be wept
In pendant be kept
While angels confess
Of delight in the light thine bosom hath blest
Every virtue possess’d
Every blessing caressed and undressed of each curse
Unsequestered through verse
Such drive and verve preserves the souls of those of lost desire and nerve
Teardrop after teardrop
Be observed by thriving earth
Many cycles past
Lifetime dependancy
Abreast of existential dressing
Excess of transcendency
