Come take a seat ‘neath the verse of caress,
Undress’d of my heart as it bleeds,
I wish to impart of a maiden long fabled,
By name of Annabel Lee.

She was a child and indeed so was I,
Two children reclin’d beneath clear summer skies,
We loved with a love that was more than a love,
No fair declaration could e’er summarize,
Indeed it was I to be present thereafter—
The crescent moon scene whence her innocence died—
Scatter’d the ashes of youth midst vermouth—
Of the sea within which she dids’t bid her residual recline.

Explicit the seraphs of Heaven whence coveting
Love that encompass’d most handsome of sum,
Insipid the angels of fate’s cruellest harken,
To lend ear no cheer midst the bitter wind’s thrum,
Beating the drum of most chilling renown,
My beautiful Annabel Lee fell to ground,
Shut in a sepulchre dank of surround,
Lost to her kinsmen, of treachery found.

The wingèd conspirators scoffed from their pedestals,
Demons beneath the sea counted their curses,
Pain was relentless, pretentious and cursive,
My sole wish to sever these tethers untenable,
Tear the pale flesh from the bones and disown,
For I no longer cared of the heartbeat outgrown,
Only desir’d to lie down by the side,
Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride.

It was many and many a year ago now,
In a kingdom of unfathomed sea,
That I plumb’d to the depths to request final breath,
From the lips of my beautiful Annabel Lee;
Each time the moon beams, the stars rise in her eyes,
Midst sweep of night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride,
In the tomb of resounding most dreams.
We love with a love so much more than a love,
I and my Annabel Lee.

She was a child and indeed so was I,
Two children reclin’d beneath clear summer skies,
We loved with a love that was more than a love,
No fair declaration could e’er summarize,
Indeed it was I to be present thereafter—
The crescent moon scene whence her innocence died—
Scatter’d the ashes of youth midst vermouth—
Of the sea within which she dids’t bid her residual recline.

We love with a love so much more than a love,
I and my Annabel Lee.
