William Kidd “Kolobos”

Some of us live in the moment
Some of us cling to the past
Some of us find ourselves stuck in the present
And seldom look set to advance
Some of us cannot adore here and now
Can only love that which has passed
Some of us are broken so badly that sadly the hearts in our chests turn to glass
Some of us make same mistakes
Perpetuating pattern
Some of us accentuate the voice that grates inside our heads
Intensely stating nothing really matters
Some of us react on cue
The same way doubled back on loop
Some of us are tied to tracks
Denied the knack for aptitude
Some of us see fact as truth
Through inconclusive sources
Some of us have attitude
Too crass and crude for natural causes
Some of us lean towards judgement and blame
In the name of reduction and shame
Some of us think it’s about playing games
As we vye for vain prize of first place
Some of us are meek and mild
Seeking sweet release from trial
Speaking of techniques reviled
Some of our beliefs are wild
Some might say
We’re doomed to fail
Platoon too frail for setting sail
Some of us have raised our masts
To tell a more compelling tale
Some of us ascend in scale
With present company indeed included
Some like it hot
Thus with not a jot ado
In conclusion
Here’s looking at you kid
