Green Fields

It is my wish for Green Fields to be enjoyed free of  time-related context, the exact way it was conceived.

to open up one’s wounds
is to grant light a pathway through
indeed in truth
it is the shrewdest way to heal
an aide-memoire to make us feel
and grace these scars to due reveal
embrace the darkness
let it spill
release that artless and refill
do so regardless of appeal
to feel consumed
unconceal to open up one’s wounds
for battlefields need not be marked as tombs

it takes a brave
to bleed in faith
that others may bleed the same way
encouraging a gateway
for the shade redeeming light to play
streaming eyes
are keen reminders we’re alive
suffice to say
the tears that blind us
light the way
when lines of sight need wider range
each tidal wave we brave
is less inclined to strike each time it breaks
and this aside
we dream the very wildest wide awake

weakness is a strength
to be commemorated daily
else the only ones misleading are ourselves
while we appear in best of health
each weighted secret stains our shelves
it seems the reason why we keep them
is to not be deemed as beaten
when the only ones we beat are selves
for only once we weaken can our scars most deepened tell
and then and only then
can we bid secrecy farewell

to open up one’s wounds
is to grant light a pathway through
indeed in truth
it is the truest way to feel
an aide-memoire to help us heal
emblazon scars to due reveal
embrace the darkness
let it spill
release that heartless and refill
do so regardless of the quill
for each mark signed is individual
scar tissue is bridgeable
our lives some way more livable
when unconcealed
we open up our wounds
and this is how the green fields care to bloom
