Thee Sixpence “Incense and Peppermint”

every day
is a blessing to me
each time i awaken
i hasten to breathe
for every last breath i possess is unique
leaves an impression
exceptionally keen
to caress the feathered nest of leisured theme

should life be but a dream
then i’m asleep
head counting sheep
for in my keep
they are untold
of golden fleece
with bold and brave
they hold formation
shoulder to shoulder
upholstered and brazen
guided by raven’s far-sighted persuasion
ne’er unrequited
indicted
forsaken
raising hell solely to kiss and tell sweetly
chiming knell wholly to thicken cells weeping
should life be but a dream
then i’m defined in the between
for it is here i feel entitled deepest breathing

every breath
i exhale
is a vessel set sail
each time i awaken
my eyes are less vacant
my quest trail
a fresh gale
which blows from the north
in ode to immense scale
of opening chords
unspoken endorsement
no token reward
for the hope in a soul’s glow outsourced
alone with my thoughts
i feel home
at the source
yet so seldom outgrown of the heart
for each beat repeats
to make sweet the entreat
of my deepest seed bleeding true art

each new day
a blessing is seen
every time i awaken
i hasten to breathe
for every last breath i possess is unique
leaves an impression
exceptionally keen
to caress the feathered nest of treasured theme
should life be but a dream
then i’m asleep
awake
and halfway in-between
ornate in my faith
as i proceed
