Brian Eno “Fleeting Smile”
Home is where the heart resides
Where artful tones in calm confide
The answers to a thousand trials
The whereabouts of kin
It’s not a case of fitting in
But finding that one missing link
The kind of ancient discipline
That whispers when we listen in
We may have walked for countless miles
And fought for half that distance
But still we sought rose quartz aside
The path of least resistance
Harder falls forewarned
Forearmed our bargain with resolve
And all that untoward
Engorged darned scars with psalm untold
From beetleweed to ceiling beam
To peaceful sleep
Cathedral dream
Foreseen belief
In brief redeem
Yet endless sweet remembrance
Bled to bones
Skin shed alone
Each mortal breath undressed atone
In sacrifice
The reddened stone
Of heavenly resemblance
Home is where the heart resides
Where artful tones in calm confide
The answers to a thousand trials
The essence sensed alone
Only takes one glowing orb
To grace adore to knowing ward
To scale the walls of own accord
And hail the dawn’s enthrone
It’s not a case of fitting in
But finding that one missing link
The kind of ancient discipline
Which listens in for home
Its beat bids sweet remembrance
To the embers of the bones
Wherein forever cherubs sing
Its endless ode
