Misery loves company
Enough for me to leave it well alone
For I believe it up to me
And ultimately care not for its tone
All too easy feeling queasy with this sickness in my bones
It may taunt me
It may tease me
Strive to haunt me and displease me
But the thoughts it tries misleading are my own
And pre-warned me of its caustic need to know

Running gauntlets in a corset
Leaves one morbidly exhausted
Feeling daunted as the walls start closing in
Stalling for time
We cry a river blind behind us
To set dignified reminders of the thorns arose within

Ill-advised our tears might seem
But will revive once thriving streams
Should we be seen to seek the source of each transgression
Bleeding seems to weaken us
With needles digging deep in us
Howbeit, need not leave such bleak impression

There’s a lesson in undressing
When the flesh begins to deaden
There’s a blessing in succession to the curse
Evanescing is depressing
And so seldom prepossessing
Less we do our level best to stall the hearse

Misery loves company
Enough for me to call it out through verse
For I believe it up to me
To weave my words productively
And ultimately all out reimburse
All too easy feeling queasy with this sickness in our bones
It may taunt us
It may tease us
Strive to haunt us and displease us
But the thoughts it tries misleading are our own
And pre-warned us of its hollow need to know
Thus, it’s heedless to proceed with sorrowed groan
For each bleed succeeded pleads to lead us home
To leave misery’s affliction well alone
