Listen to Maiden’s Song by Richard Charles Stevens

Listen to Into The Void by Division

undaunted by the shadow in her wake
the maiden tiptoed through the roses
with ballerina’s poise and grace
striking heightened number of choice poses

dressing flesh that restlessly writhed upon bones
yet hair as divine as a spray of fresh posies
a sweet contradiction
of vision and tone
a fact away from fiction and a fade to black from home
dashing through the daffodils
enrapturing the arid hills
imagining the narrative of actual feels
undaunted by the shadows laying prone
for here within the light she felt enthroned

undaunted by the shadow in her wake
the maiden tiptoed through the roses
with ballerina’s poise and grace
striking heightened number of choice poses

the onus she placed on each breath in her lungs
bid escape from the cusp of her blustering tongue
thrust upon lips that were pale and unsung
yet readily melodious coming undone
her toes were painted emerald
bestowed of golden stud
her fleet of foot ephemeral
in flight to rise above
the drifting mist of shifting faces
unpermissed of heirloom graces
fingertips declared embraces
making love in lace gloved traces
memorizing skies beneath the veil of fading sunrise
as the moon resumed its voluntary stasis
watching every move she made
musing as the maiden swayed
rumouring of serenade
the ancients famed of yesterdays remembered in a sensual haze
essential as the air of grace
within the dream she dared to chase

undaunted by the shadow in her wake
the maiden tiptoed through the roses
with ballerina’s poise and grace
striking heightened number of choice poses

undaunted by the shadow in her wake
flaunted of desire to taste the fire when wide awake
riding on a tidal wave
of passion in reprise, unchained
dashing through the daffodils
enrapturing the arid plains
rewriting the narrative of actual feels
alive again
with ballerina’s poise and grace
a lullaby in finest lace
nowise seen through eyes without a face
the maiden stayed the night
and day became
