Learn to unwind
Maybe try to relax
Stay here a while
Reconcile with the fact
That the hands of time seldom turn back

Past is the past
Water under the bridge
No second chances
No pre-rehearsed script
Only get one life to live
At least, here in the moment
Death really is the most ghastly opponent
Asks not permission to lean in for kisses
Grants indecision no half-hearted wishes
Snarfs down last supper
While watching us suffer
Will not stay to wash up the dishes
Past is the past
Water under the bridge
Yet this doesn’t mean that we need be dismissive

Every path that led us here
Did so for valid reason
No such thing as wasted years
Just underactive seasons
Lessons learned can still apply
Provided we use well our time
Rely on future proof components
Realign when in the moment
Placing onus on the fact that every day’s a bonus
Make it plain it will take great painstaking to disown us
Heartbreak is merely a test of resolve
Halfway to seeing depression dissolved
Leaving behind an impression reminding that puzzles are present to duly be solved

Better yet, be prepared for extremities

Fate may relentlessly muscle in on destiny
Yet, cannot prevent what is meant to be
