It was little more than cloudburst
Gone as fast as it became
Yet every flower thirst
To taste the ardour of the rain
Teardrops stained the hardening terrain
Unto the pardoned earth’s reclaim
And I nowise felt so disheartened to remain
The darkened skies then parted
To remarkable amaze
As I embarked upon the voyage of voice untrained
Rejoiced in the unharbour of refrain
Aeons had passed
In the cold light of day
Untold were the nights
Within which I felt chained
My heart was near felled and my arteries flamed
To speak well and highly of masterpiece framed
It was little more than cloudburst
Gone as fast as it became
Yet every vein that burst
Returned a part of me to hardening terrain
I felt entitled to remain
To sight the pardoned earth’s reclaim
And it was little more than cloudburst
In refrain
It was nothing less than covenant
To end the trend of sufferance
To bend the rules that govern us
The same curfew that smothers us
My scars remained uncovered
As the rain became my lover
And my naked soul then barrel rolled
As it outstayed its cover
On another day
I may have faded black
Delayed react
And factored in a multitude of reason
In my head
Ten thousand thoughts
All screaming for endorsement
Yet I needed only one to be believed in
One well placed regenerative seedling
It was little more than cloudburst
Gone as fast as it became
Yet every flower thirst
To taste the ardour of the rain
Teardrops famed the harvested terrain
Unto the pardoned earth’s reclaim
And I felt faithfully entitled to remain
My ardent lips then parted
To remarkable amaze
As I embarked upon new voyage of choice refrain
Rejoicing every nightfall in the rain
It was nothing less than covenant
To end the trend of sufferance
To bend the rules that govern us
The same curfew that smothers us
My scars remained uncovered
As the rain became my lover
And my naked soul then barrel rolled
As it outstayed its cover
On another day
I may have faded black
Delayed react
And factored in a multitude of reason
In my head
Ten thousand thoughts
All screaming for endorsement
Yet I needed only one to be believed in
One well placed regenerative seedling
It was little more than cloudburst
Gone as fast as it became
Yet every flower thirst
To taste the ardour of the rain
Teardrops stained the hardening terrain
Unto the pardoned earth’s reclaim
And I nowise felt so disheartened to remain
The darkened skies then parted
To remarkable amaze
As I embarked upon the voyage of voice untrained
Rejoiced in the unharbour of refrain
