Listen to Brave The Leap by Richard Charles Stevens (Groove Control Suite)
It takes but a second
To make an impression
One gesture
Is all it requires
Need not our knees knock
Chests wheeze beneath breezeblocks
In ear shot to sheer drop from spire
.
It takes but a second again
To inspire
Raise the stakes
To make plain
All to gain from the fire
Bare naked the flame
Set ablaze
In each vein
Reawakening native desire
To enable the faith to reach higher
And feel stable exceeding the spire
Bare naked the flame
Set ablaze
In each vein
Reawakening native desire
.
By my reckoning
A second is most definitely excessive
To retire the need for stressing
Less to teach a timely lesson
On the reason we’re obsessing on the curse
When we are clearly worth careering on the curve towards a blessing
.
Evanescence need not be so ever present a decree
Providing we perceive an underlying blessing to redeem
For it takes a split second to be seen
By my reckoning
One less to dress with elegance a scene
.
Never
Never
Never
Never
Never
Never
Never
Never
Nevermore say never
Brave the leap
.
It may seem to take forever
Reaching some place made to measure
While endeavouring to venture gained
Through all terrain and weather
Nevermore at leisure
With the treasure in our keep
For pain outweighs the pleasure
Leads to heaviest defeat
.
It may seem to take forever
Reawakening from dream
Yet each breath bequeaths a second less asleep
It takes but a split second
Some way less than
By my reckoning
To nevermore say never
Brave the leap
.
Holding hands
We brave the waves and break the chains that bind us
Gazing forth we blaze the trail
Unveil all that behind us
Frail as we may be
Our tragedies need not define us
Should we seek the light most bright
And let it shine to guide us
.
Nevermore say never
Brave the leap
.
Nevermore say never
Brave the leap
.
We all have a dependency for one thing or another
We all have toil the spoils of something as yet undiscovered
We all recoil to buy ourselves a short time to recover
From that which foils our hopes and dreams relentlessly
.
We all have a story
Grand fable yet untold
A road to glory readymade
And paved in ornate gold
We all have hopes
We all have dreams
Cascading streams of wild extremes
Strident seas of silent screams
Where sirens pleas appease the breeze
Intriguing through nonviolent means
And feel relieved to prise it free
.
Taking leave of senses preened on feelings gleaned insatiably
Waking dreams relate to themes recurring less we make a scene
Shake the tree and rake the leaves
Elucidate the saving deeds
Adjudicate the faceless thieves
Recuperate the air we breathe
Proceed with grace and verity
Commit to bleed unsparingly
Appeal with fate for clemency
Blind faith replacing errancy
.
We all have goals
Can make them bold
Can take the reins and break the mould
Should deepest souls remain enrolled
Then eyes of chosen may behold
The warmth to stave away the cold
And fan the flame proclaimed annulled
Staking claim then having holding
Making plain our plans are golden
.

Not all fables need remain disgracefully untold
Fallen braves reborn again can safely make it home
Forge a flawless legacy before they venture forth
Towards the veil gate
To the great unknown
.
It takes but a second
