something pure
something true
nothing borrowed
nothing blue
all of me and all of she
one extraordinary view
one heart that beats and skips for two
one masterpiece as seen anew
through eyes that prize the universe inside
confiding timeless bloom

i could die a most untimely death
yet final breath could never come too soon
providing it was she who breathed me swiftly back to life again
providing it was she to see me through
we are the reflections of a love of aeons passed and at long last, history has bid resume
all of me and all of she
no cautious bleed exhumed
for every tear we weep sincere
another bygone year is groomed
foundations set in place and fortified by only truth
each a priceless keepsake of our youth

even back at childhood
we both knew we would be tangled up like wildwood
should we realign and synchronize the view
perched upon the steeple of our wildest, bravest dreams
i swore oath to return to the spot where our love was most immoderately seen
where we were king and queen before we came of age and turned the page
uncertain of the age per se
however, i shall never once forget the way she looked at me
the way my slightest pains became her bridle reins to grant release
she knew i was wild
with a brave heart inside
so delighted was she with its beat
no affright, just almighty relief
no more ideal a time to be seen
we both needed something pure
something true enough to bleed
every shade and every hue
each unchanging will to leap
and embrace the quill of crimson in our keep

something pure
something true
nothing borrowed
nothing blue
all of me and all of she
one extraordinary view
one heart that beats and skips for two
one masterpiece as seen anew
through eyes that prize the universe inside
confiding timeless bloom

one cannot pick and choose to fuse
for something pure and something true
is one thing less bereft of two
and such would never do
a love like ours could tower high
empower skies to rise again
would seldom tire
decline the fade
make trivial entire tirade
the outlay was minimal
a single kiss undressed of lips
a nestling place for fingertips
to trace the shape of dreamscapes reconvened
unspoken yet most vocal as the whispering had ceased
the trees had calmed
the breeze was charmed
relieving fallen leaves from harm
side by side and arm in arm
a king and queen prepared their psalm
declared their love as air to breathe
ensnared no more by sorrows steeped
todays made bleak
tomorrows seized
the hollow grief of love’s decree
exonerated, wild and free
no need for chains to bind the sight
of two fierce braves who stayed the night
huddled in their safe place
time and space bid night and day a kind adieu
no mild dismay
no breaks in changeless view
so much ado
each touchstone seen anew

something pure
something true
nothing borrowed
nothing blue
all of me and all of she
one extraordinary view
one heart that beats and skips for two
one masterpiece and absolute
through eyes that prize the universe inside
confiding rapid bloom
tapping each vein
holding tight the priceless keepsake of our youth
two true flames
seen burning blue
something pure
and something true
something more than nothing left to lose
yet safe to take a leap of faith, redecorate the view
love through art
and marvel at each masterpiece anew
for every artery abides our truth
fairy tales of famed prevail
for setting sail midst swollen seas
flowers of devotion sweet
bottled for the ocean’s keep

something pure
something true
nothing borrowed
nothing blue
all of me and all of she
one extraordinary view
one heart that beats and skips for two
one masterpiece as seen anew
through eyes that prize the universe inside
confiding timeless bloom
