Listen to Angel Heart by Richard Charles Stevens (Lair Suite)

Listen to The Lair by Occams Laser

you have been through so much
never asked for the crutch
that corrupted the world at your feet
your luminous flux is a thing of great beauty
therefore i proclaim it my unrestrained duty
reminding the light in your eyes to recline in the shade of the faraway tree
maybe play in the marmalade leaves
take the weight off your wild and brave feet
feel elated to finally be
feel elated to finally be
feel elated to finally be
feel elated to finally be

you have suffered great loss
and this cross you bear kindly
losing a loved one is ever untimely
smiling at sorrow
you do so politely
precisely the way you’re inclined to behave
with reliable grace
and a pliable waist
that embraces the lace
as your fingertips trace
every indiscreet graze of your frame
healing with feeling
scar tissue revealed
for each pain is abrasive permission to feel

you have spilled out a river of bittersweet tears
each as sincere as the last
regret for the most part has passed
forgiveness no longer evades your pained heart
the lark and the owl
come and go in this place
night proposes to day
in its own unique way
in your eyes wild and brave
lives the light and the shade
to ignite inner flame
realign mirror frame
and delight in the way your face changes
as you smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels

it pains me that a heart can break
when each beat is halfway to made
days turn into weeks and months
and every peak precedes great slump
facing forward sees us cornered
penned in by enslaving borders
jukebox on but out of quarters
only sad songs left to order
all I wish for you
is that the light still shines true
if only to remind you
of horizons viewed through eyes anew
wish such sight be prized for you
for every tear you cry to bloom
for ceaseless tides of kindly loom
for peace whereby your life resumes
one day at a time right now
is all one can aspire to
can seem like the end
but that’s way less than you’re entitled to
give my word
at your own wish
to be the friend no end befits
will offer up my sleeves and wrists
to see each greeted teardrop kissed
teardrop kissed
teardrop kissed
teardrop kissed
teardrop kissed
teardrop kissed
teardrop kissed
teardrop kissed
kissed

cheers me that a heart can heal
when each beat feeds the need to feel
every pain reveals a clue
as to the gains of shining through
when life is conspiring to deny the right to breathe
defy belief and time your leap
for who knows what you might achieve
all I wish for you
is that the light still shines true
if only to remind you
of horizons viewed through eyes anew
skies anew
skies anew
skies anew
skies anew
skies anew
skies anew
skies anew
new
i wish
i wish such sight be prized for you
for every tear you cry to bloom
for ceaseless tides of kindly loom
for peace whereby your life resumes
one day at a time right now
is all one can aspire to
can seem like the end
but that’s way less than you’re entitled to
give my word
at your own wish
to be the friend no end befits
will offer up my sleeves and wrists
to see each greeted teardrop kissed

kissed

smile
the lark and the owl
come and go in this place
night proposes to day
in its own unique way
in your eyes wild and brave
lives the light and the shade
to ignite inner flame
realign mirror frame
and delight in the way your face changes
as you smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels
smile at your guardian angels

smile (repeat)

kiss (repeat)

kissed

smile at your guardian angels
