The Smile of Everlong (Change Suite)

Listen to The Smile of Everlong by Richard Charles Stevens (Change Suite)

Listen to Change by Tears For Fears

Slow hands groping
Barely coping
Scarcely there
And rarely quoted
Nowise shame
Unfairly noted
Whole lives famed
In praise emotive
Danger days
Confused and dazed
Bemused to rue
Their waning faith
Entombed in vegetative phase
Yet due to change their wayward ways
.
Take this smile of mine
And do please wear it in my honour
Woulda
Shoulda
Coulda
Much prefer that you were gonna
It would be my pleasure
Altogether my prestige
To see this smile of mine unseated
In your honour
.
I’m keen to prove I mean to move the mountains to the sea
With grounds to see renewed a truth profound as it is deep
Abounding bloom my doubtless theme
Without which I’m a soundless scream
My every move eschews deceit
No deadly ruse
No root disease
Immune
At ease
Appeased to breathe
With deep belief
Preceding scene
Succeeding pain
To keep the peace
Perceive the gain
And take a leap
To reap rewards from untoward
And lean towards
A sweeter chord
At least afford
Complete accord
To reach in deep and sweep the shore
.
Slow hands groping
Barely coping
Scarcely there
And rarely quoted
Nowise shame
Unfairly noted
Whole lives famed
In praise emotive
Danger days
Confused and dazed
Bemused to rue
Their waning faith
Entombed in vegetative phase
Yet due to change their wayward ways
.
Take this smile of mine
And do please wear it in my honour
Woulda
Shoulda
Coulda
Much prefer that you were gonna
It would be my pleasure
Altogether my prestige
To see this smile of mine unseated
In your honour
.
Kindly words are mightier than swords of carbon steel
Discharging inertia to replace with ardent zeal
Set aside the crops of wither just to see the garden filled with first-rate view to some place far afield
To no ends
Great lengths extend
To which we can no less depend
Ascend the clouds while heading down
To better dress the threshing grounds
Stretching out on golden sands
Worlds apart yet holding hands
Blessed devout when sweating out the doldrums in these rolling lands
.
Slow hands groping
Barely coping
Scarcely there
And rarely quoted
Nowise shame
Unfairly noted
Whole lives famed
In praise emotive
Danger days
Confused and dazed
Bemused to rue
Their waning faith
Entombed in vegetative phase
Yet due to change their wayward ways
.
Take this smile of mine
And do please wear it in my honour
Woulda
Shoulda
Coulda
Much prefer that you were gonna
It would be my pleasure
Altogether my prestige
To see this smile of mine repeated
In your honour
.
I’m keen to prove I mean to move the mountains to the sea

Abounding bloom my doubtless theme

Reach in deep and sweep the shore

Take this smile of mine
Wear it like silk upon your skin
Wear it out in public
And touch others
With the love I place within
.

Due to change their wayward ways
Due to change their wayward ways
Due to change their wayward ways
Due to change their wayward ways
Due to change their wayward ways
Due to change their wayward ways
Due to change their wayward ways
