Lover’s Requiem (The Ripper Suite)

Listen to Lover’s Requiem by Richard Charles Stevens (The Ripper Suite)

Listen to The Ripper by Painkiller

The skies were black and blue
The stars had died
So had the moon
My heart of ice
Had cracked clean through
Yet still I marvelled at the view
.
The skies were black and blue
The stars had died
So had the moon
My heart of ice
Had cracked clean through
Yet still I marvelled at the view
.
Marble statues lie in ruin
And I clapped at their undoing
Breaking rank it seemed
Was not that hard to do
Through the rubble of my troubles
I approximately doubled
Feathers nominally ruffled
Glossed anew
.
Silence steeped the keep
Yet I discerned no harrow creep
Within the shallows
I dove deep
To brave the seas
(Brave the seas)
Within the narrows of the shadows
I could breathe
And seat at baby grand piano
In the hallowed light of She
(She)
Every vein ignited
Had been cordially invited
To the ballroom pending my RSVP
While the flame reignited inside
Became full flighted
I confided my undying fealty
.
Hers was the fairest of all shared reflections
Reprised from the blur of returning affection
Well guided
Provided
Undying protection
A blessing
Of worth
To undress me of curse
An expression of old
Told through precious few words
As my destiny finally seen became heard
.
My heart bled red with fire
And crackled valiant and true
As I rode astride her chariot
Enamoured of the view
Angels and demons
Proclaimed their allegiance
Of no known impedance
So whole was our truth
.
The skies were black and blue
Their scars remarked of ashen hue
To height of fashion long impassioned to renew
My bones were fractured
Still the mascot flowers grew
And bid resume to the most animate of hyperactive bloom

.

We danced in the flames
Advanced past bitter fates
Avant-garde dinner dates
Hearts unmasked
And ablaze
Deeper and deeper we fell beneath spell
Heavenly creatures undressed of our hells
Kissing death’s lips
Kissing
Kissing death’s lips
Kissing
Kissing death’s lips with the breaths we expelled
Kissing death’s lips
Kissing
Kissing death’s lips
Swimming
Swimming eclipse to replenish the well

.
