Listen to Hiatus by Richard Charles Stevens (Minor Cause Suite)

Tripping on sunshine
Face painting in the rain
Sipping moonshine nightly
To remind me of its taste
There was once a time
When I wore eyes without a face
Now I see precisely what awaits
And seems no better time to be awake
.
As mankind makes the same mistakes
I work on my appraising gaze
Waning days aside
My faith is way too great to die away
This is why I hide away
To contemplate on wider aim
Remind myself of native plains
And find all kinds of fresh creative ways
To sate the waves
And brave the rip-tide
As I slip slide to the flip side I once gripped tight
Prior to the fade away
Testify intensified desire to staking claim on where success derives
To death defy and find my way to life again
.
Tripping on sunshine
Face painting in the rain
Sipping moonshine nightly
To remind me of its taste
There was once a time
When I wore eyes without a face
Now I see precisely what awaits

Life is but a dream
(I’m wide awake)
Life is but a dream
(I’m wide awake)
Life is but a dream

At hearts we are part of a far greater plan
Have the balm to heal scars in the palm of our hands
For all we withstand
We are harder than nails
With the fortified stature of that which prevails
Our faith underpinned by the wind in our sails
As we hail light of far distant lands
Ours is a trail hike to scale heights untold
Timely reminder how life might unfold
Should we grasp tail light of sights we behold
Then we need not be heedlessly damned
The frequency of piquancy need not be out of bandwidth
Repeatable behaviour leads the way to understand it
Ingeniously neighbourly once we side step the sand pit
To spacious greens we formerly abandoned
.

As mankind makes the same mistakes
We can locate our standing
Make great every rise from fall from grace we have a hand in
Fate withstanding
Hate disbanded
Ours need not dictate false branding
We can love hearts just enough to see their suffered arcs expanding
Touch the void
Devoid of fear
Avoid severe delays
Last the night
By casting light on pioneering days
Phasing out self raising doubts
Our wide eyes find their faces
Thus incline to recognise precisely what awaits us
Energising theme we stream when dreaming mid hiatus
With no impedance seen
We reawaken
.
Tripping on sunshine
Face painting in the rain
Sipping moonshine nightly
To remind me of its taste
There was once a time
When I wore eyes without a face
Now I see precisely what awaits
For as life is but a dream
I’m wide awake

Life is but a dream

What two beautiful lines that fill me with the feeling of fizzy sharks on tongue!
Fizzy sharks on the tongue. Now that is a divine imagining, Mouse. Next time we brave the seas together, we should make sure they’re circling our boat.
“Remember the time
When our eyes found our faces
And see in kind precisely what awaits us”
Always such wonderful words. Love.
Bless your sweet soul. I do love the cherry pick, as you know. Try to include at least one sweet spot in not just every verse, but every stanza. And I find that, often, the simplest words tell the most telling tale.
Agreed. And you do it so well! <3
Honoured. As do you. Nothing forced, it simply is. ❤
Thank you. ((hugs)) It simply is.
