Listen to The Greatest In-Between by Richard Charles Stevens (Signals Suite)

Every star in the skies
Had a clear line of sight
To delight in incline of her fanciful flight
.
The rise and fall of her chest
Against mine
The breath on her lips
And the scent of fresh pine
The unspoken kiss as her eyes then met mine
A lesser man
Surely would die
.
The rise and fall of her chest
Against mine
The breath on her lips
And the scent of fresh pine
The unspoken kiss as her eyes then met mine
A lesser man
Surely would die
But not I
.
Every star in the skies
Had a clear line of sight
To delight in incline of her fanciful flight
Had my heart
Burst straight through
I’d have marvelled the view
For the flowers in my bones
Felt enthroned to dress bloom
Was no question of her beauty
Every breath she stole attested
That hers was masterpiece long since perfected
As I perched upon her wings
She proceeded then to sing
And my chest felt no longer quite so tight
.
A lesser man
Surely would die
But not I
I felt calm in this place
I felt charmed of embrace
I felt rested
Suggested to bask in her rays
Every colour and shade
Of her autumnal face
.
The rise and fall of her chest
Against mine
The breath on her lips
And the scent of fresh pine
The unspoken kiss as her eyes then met mine
A lesser man
Surely would die
But not I
.
Would have disappeared without a trace
To be inside her
To make her tummy curl
Would play the infinite provider
Every fallen star I chased
Would thus resemble treasured face
Of every last endeavour
To impress forever after taste
.
I shed a single tear
Her lips then brushed against my cheek
No question that I blushed
For I had seldom felt so sweet
So indiscreetly joyous
Exceedingly buoyant
To recline in the eyes of a Queen
A lesser man
Surely would die
But not I
For a brave Monarch
This day
Was seen
.
Every star in the skies
Had a clear line of sight
To delight in this fanciful scene
As I perched upon her wings
We proceeded then to dream
Wide awake—We claimed
The greatest in-between
.
Wide awake—We claimed
The greatest in-between
Wide awake—We claimed
The greatest in-between
As I perched upon her wings
We proceeded then to dream
Wide awake—We claimed
The greatest in-between
.
The rise and fall of her chest
Against mine
The breath on her lips
And the scent of fresh pine
The unspoken kiss as her eyes then met mine
A lesser man
Surely would die
But not I
.
The rise and fall of her chest
Against mine
The breath on her lips
And the scent of fresh pine
The unspoken kiss as her eyes then met mine
A lesser man
Surely would die
But not I
.
All circulating arteries connected
.
