Ladytron “Melting Ice”

Everything She loved had been taken
Mistaken for vacant
Too quickly forsaken
Not that She was known for her complacency
But history repeated with such frequency that She receded hastily
Damage limitation invitation to save face that She wore gracefully when faithfully inclined
Breaking waves aside, She turned the tide in her favour
Relied upon the comfort of strangers
Unsigned of disclaimer
All the while, the widow of her chamber remained
Ever restless
Estranged from a destiny pre-dated
To make fated the decline She paraded in her eyes
Every time that daylight faded
Making jaded her reprise
For this had been the way of life resigned

Everything She loved had been denied her
Depriving the air She required to declare of delight
Long ensnared deep inside as it writhed for one kiss before the dying of the light belied eclipse
The blood upon her lips had dried
Of generations mystified
Her hesitation justified
For dedication rusts in time
Entrusted not the luster of the cluster of stardust within another brace of eyes same way inclined
This constellation not to be forsaken
Regardless of how hard her faith was shaken
For something stationed reawakened every time She turned to face him
Gazing into eyes parading not a sign of vacancy
Had history repeated then He too would have receded hastily
At least, before She wore her face so gracefully
So faithfully inclined
To make kind the embrace She paraded in her eyes
Every time that daylight faded
Making famed reprise
For this had been the way of love’s design

Everything She loved was masqueraded in plain sight
Supplying the air striving solely to declare of delight
One time lonely heart in twine
Everything She loved aligned
For He would sooner die than leave her side
And should He be taken
Then He would await at the great gate most patiently
Fame each reprise
Remaining faithfully inclined
Until two lovers reunite
Within the dying of the light
Embracing lady bathed in white
Midsummer dream
Of Fall enthroned
From Winter bones
To Spring a bride
For He would sooner die a thousand deaths than leave her side alive
Deprive the air He required to declare of delight
Breaking waves of brave paraded
Never once disgraced or jaded
Everything She loved was masqueraded in plain sight
Every leap of faith was taken blind
Finally, disarmingly
And nothing less than charmingly
She smiled
For as She turned to face him
Everything She loved and feared denied had never one time left her side
