Julie Delpy “A Waltz For A Night”
with hand extended
he grasped her fingertips
caught his breath
and took his place
next to her
in grace
centuries then peeled away
the rusted paint of rustic ages
dusted with the stars
of generations passed
illuminating
every shade
wherein their love be laid
bestowed of ageless serenade
never once to separate
as through the fays they danced
in timeless grace
no more noble air of chance
than that within the streams they glanced
lost within a seamless trance
clove of rolling dreamscapes vast
present in the keepsake past
steadfast through archaic chant
life no greater splendour grant
than that engendered youthful charm
lent of centered soothe and calm
resplendent
truthful
tender
september in their slipstream
rejuvenating
every shade
wherein their love of loves be laid
bestowed of ageless serenade
never once to separate
as through the fays they danced
in timeless grace
with hand extended
he grasped her fingertips
caught his breath
and traced each contour of her just so face
just so divine
in each colour and shade
dusted with the stars they made
for every tear
a souvenir be claimed of famed renaissance
the wellspring of diamonds
no longer waylaid
illuminated their faces
wherein the love of all loves loved be laid
bestowed of ageless serenade
never once to separate
as through the fays they danced
of soothe and calm
in timeless grace
theirs was a love
of considered embrace
every heartbeat replacing the countless escaping
forward forevermore facing
in praise of the dream within which they awakened
engraved in the knots of their lost and found tree
centuries then peeled away expeditiously
the rusted bark of rustic ages
nevermore of waning phase
felt within the hollow
bled of sorrow
unequivocally
yesterdays today became
todays tomorrow
in this place
wherein their love of all loves loved before be laid again
bestowed of ageless serenade
never once to separate
as through the fays they danced
undying braid
of soothe and calm
in timeless grace
and took their place
beneath the shade
rejuvenating seed of grape
to sip the wine
of keepsake past
and raise in toast
the great hereafter
to be made
