I feel at peace this day or night
Can’t quite recall the space or time
Yet evermore forget me not
The time I saw a raven cry
.
I feel at peace this day or night
Can’t quite recall the space or time
Yet evermore forget me not
The time I saw a raven cry
.
Atop the gilded birdcage
Perched the raven
Its wings were torn
Its ancient curse long graven
Averse to light
It clung to shadow
Eye upon the hungry sparrow
Unsung as it succumbed to starvation
.
The raven
Nary craven
Was of eminent persuasion
Thus it swore an oath
No loathe to beg and borrow
For a crow left of the murder
Were a host of eggs to nurture
Well deserving of unswerving dedication
.
For a bird
Fettered to sorrow
It fared better with tomorrows
In remembrance of yesterdays
That led the way to better days
Its vested gaze could raise the dead
To height of elevation
And the raven
Nary craven
Favour sped
Until regret of grave remainder fled
.
All malediction lifted
It felt gifted in reprise
The impetus had shifted
From the shadows back to light
For even on the blackest night
The moon illuminated placid flight
.
And the raven
Nary craven
Remained passive to the blight
For ne’er had it famed such emphatic sight
.
I feel at peace this day or night
Can’t quite recall the space or time
Yet evermore forget me not
The time I saw a raven cry
.
I feel at peace this day or night
Can’t quite recall the space or time
Yet evermore forget me not
The time I saw a raven cry
.
True are the feathers of tethering plume
Duly dissevered to weather the gloom
Bled through the never
To revel anew
At the heavenly sight of entitlement bloomed
.

Flighted is the fancy
To the height of necromancy
There is magic after all
In every fall engaged to rise
To heed the call
Of one so prized
To be baptised in rushing tides
Gush with pride
Like blushing bride
Become sun ripened
To delight such stunning sight
Becoming high on life as seen
Through eyes that sing
To wings pristine
Of princely preen
And breathe divine
The theme of aeons underlined
By seemly crayons of reprise
To lace the skies
In braided twine
To light a flame
Where faith abides
Make plain desire embracing fire
Remind of most famed blaze inside
To scale
To scale
To scale the most migrating spire
.
Face the wake of dreams inspired
Grace the racing streams with pride
Whirl and twirl
Unfurling wings
Reveal the deepest pearl within
With avid glee
Shall lavish thee
With palace free to fly
Enrapture in the stature of thine majesty divine
Reclining in thine celebrated light
Enrapture in the stature of thine majesty divine
.
I feel at peace this day or night
Can’t quite recall the space or time
Yet evermore forget me not
The time I saw a raven cry
The time I saw a raven cry
The time I saw a raven cry

Could it be these hopes and dreams would no longer be seen through quite so keen a pair of eyes
With that the raven winked at me
I shed a tear instinctively
We shared a moment principally of mythical design
Years rolled back
My eyes reclined
In fragments of long captured time
Scattering like ash across the borders of my fractured mind
.
I feel at peace this day or night
Can’t quite recall the space or time
Yet evermore forget me not
The time I saw a raven cry
.
I feel at peace this day or night
Can’t quite recall the space or time
Yet evermore forget me not
The time I saw a raven cry

Bloom
Bloom
Bloom
Bloom
.
