Passageway

the path was long
it wound around
felt some way lost
some way from found
despair betossed
on dangerous ground
appeared to be alone

upon the path
weary i grew
proceeded not
as winter blew
winds were colder
struck me blind
as splinters stabbed
inside my mind
amid the pines
afraid to climb
to sate desire
of inner child
too great for one
my burden bled
to weight my feet like stone

sincere was i
so fate revealed
through tears i found
my fated shield
in dreams recurred
my blindness waned
knew somewhere on
the mazy lane
i’d find myself
and more again
if down the path i strode

i had to brave
the shadows cast
by all good things
not meant to last
with leery mind
my discontent
propelled me forth
on triumph bent
to fated solace own

the path was long
it twisted turned
a blissful song
then swished and stirred
i wished to learn
the sweet voice heard
which felt to me like home

my spirit graced
the songful breeze
which carried me
to meadows free
reminded me
of times between
the passageway
so long and wound
i’m only lost
so that i’m found
illusions real
on common ground
so i am not alone

  1. “as splinters stabbed
    inside my mind”

This poem is like it was written for my present journey, if I may be so bold! It’s wonderful work ❤🛡
