Famed Became The Daisy Chain (Clean Pair of Heels Suite)

Listen to Famed Became The Daisy Chain by Richard Charles Stevens (Clean Pair of Heels Suite)

Listen to Head Over Heels by Tears For Fears

And then we all held hands
While low tide combed the golden sands
Against a sky once feared—Revered
For in bleak night the sun had seared
Had singed the fringe of seas appeased
To meet and greet beneath our feet
And if this was indeed a dream
Then why were we not deep asleep

The creatures of the night had crept
Through little deaths in retrospect
Embittered breaths had since been spent
To purge the urge to grimly vent
Within the blur of souls redressed
The cold night air declared caress
To have and hold the one thing left
That dare not be forsaken
To share the fair address of latent essence reawakened

Shaken were the trees—Their boughs profoundly still at ease
For lost at sea we may have been
But we were founded in the deep
Mistaken solely then to steep
Reclaim the treasures in our keep
To frisk the whispers of the ocean breeze
Devotedly and knowingly
The poetry of motioned glee
So openly reprieved
Supposedly diplomacy to breathe

Negotiated light and shade
Since braided ceremoniously
Of hearts unchained
Both wild and brave
This tidal wave braced potently
Atoned the leaves of fell—beneath the swollen eaves in probity
Emotionally no longer drained
For reason need not bleed their veins
Seasons changed
Still scars remained
Still beating heart convened again
Unfazed by each succeeding reign
Of nightfall uninvited
In the face of ancients knighted
Disinclined to shy away
In the grace of reenlightened age
We claimed our rightful place

And then we all held hands
While low tide combed the golden sands
Against a sky once feared—Revered
For in resume, the moon had perservered
Had singed the fringe of seas appeased
To meet and greet beneath our feet
And if this was indeed a dream
Then why were we not deep asleep
Why were we still wide awake
When willing day of chilly night became
If this had been indeed a dream
Then why had we foreseen a child’s remain
Within the streams of ceaseless wade
We all held hands
And famed became the daisy chain

And then we all held hands
While low tide combed the golden sands
Against a sky once feared—Revered
For in bleak night, the sun had seared
Had singed the fringe of seas appeased
To meet and greet beneath our feet
And if this was indeed a dream
Then why were we not deep asleep

We all held hands
And famed became the daisy chain
