Cover my eyes
To recover the smile
Undiscovered awhile
Mother Nature’s green earth is defiled
Cover my ears
So that I may then hear
The arrangement of yesteryear’s cheer my dear heart once compiled
Lay rest to my fears
And colour me blind
Stay abreast of my tears
Each a fresh souvenir
Of the life I left some way behind
As I leapt with my legs now untied
Kept as I slept through tomorrows resigned
To the sorrows unkempt in the dunes of my mind
Resume was well timed
Offered proof of a life
Disillusion denied me to live
To remind the horizon to lift
At the height of the mist
Felt entitled to give the impression of freshening flight
Aside from the deafening voice in my head
Which had beckoned through deadening plight
My cheeks were reddening
Industry strengthening
Sweet in their gesturing
Free from unsettling slight
My cheeks were reddening
Industry strengthening
Sweet in their gesturing
Free from unsettling slight
I covered my eyes
To discover a sight
That was seen as accrediting sign
To recover the smile
Undiscovered awhile
My pale skin was embellished in pine
Flight (repeat)
My cheeks were reddening
Industry strengthening
Sweet in their gesturing
Free from unsettling slight
At the height of the mist
Felt entitled to give the impression of freshening flight
Here I could go fly a kite
Find a faraway oak tree to climb
Hang from a rope swing
Reposed when foreclosing
Emotion provoked then declined
Seeking the motion devotedly chimed
By the opening hereby inclined
From the peaceful keynote of my mind
From the peaceful keynote of my mind
Cover my eyes
To recover the smile
Rediscovered awhile
Mother Nature’s green earth redefines
Cover my ears
So that I may revere
The arrangement of yesteryear’s cheer my dear heart redesigns
Lay rest to my fears
And colour me blind
Stay abreast of my tears
Each a sweet souvenir
Of the life I see some way before me
As I speak in ellipsis
Of infinite kiss
To foretell never-ending true story
Cover my eyes
To recover the smile
Rediscovered awhile
Mother Nature’s green earth redefines
Cover my ears
So that I may revere
The arrangement of yesteryear’s cheer my dear heart redesigns
Here I can go fly a kite
Find a faraway oak tree to climb
Hang from a rope swing
Reposed when foreclosing
Emotion provoked then declined
Seeking the motion devotedly chimed

From the peaceful keynote of my mind
